Course Description |
Who takes this course? |

Teaches one and two-rescuer CPR for victims all ages (including ventilations with a barrier device (pocket mask), bag mask device with and without oxygen) AED use; and foreign body airway obstruction (FBAO). |
Physicians, nurses, paramedics, EMT’s, Certified Nursing Assistants, physician assistants, residents, medical/nursing students, aids and other allied health personnel, respiratory/physical/occupational therapists, lifeguards, BLS Instructor Candidates. |

The Heartsaver® CPR course teaches CPR and relief of choking in adults and children, and infant CPR and relief of choking, and use of barrier devices (pocket mask) for all ages. |
For individuals at a worksite and/or general public who have a duty to respond to a cardiac emergency because of job responsibilities or regulatory requirements. Examples: childcare workers, babysitters, and other lay rescuers who may need to respond to an emergency, and family members of patients at high risk for cardiac arrest. |

The Heartsaver® AED course teaches CPR, AED use, relief of choking in adults and children, and infant CPR and relief of choking, and use of barrier devices for all ages. |
Special attention to using the AED for adults and children. Infant module is optional. For those who have a duty to respond to a cardiac emergency because of job responsibilities or regulatory requirements. Examples: Firefighters, police, airline personnel, security guards, lifeguards, fitness instructors/personal trainers, family members of patients at high risk for cardiac arrest and other lay rescuers who may need to respond. |

For those who have a duty to respond to a first aid or cardiac emergency because of job responsibilities or regulatory requirements. Examples: Healthcare providers in school settings, sports coaches, lifeguards, daycare providers, security guards, airline personnel, camp counselors, school teachers – or anyone required to meet OSHA regulations. |

Covers how to perform CPR and relief of foreign body airway obstruction (choking), signs of a heart attack, cardiac arrest, stroke, and how to access the 911 EMS (Emergency Medical Services). Available in adult-child, and/or infant modules. |
All lay rescuers, including school children, parents, grandparents, and any family member of patients with high risk of cardiac arrest. No course completion card is issued. This is an educational learning opportunity and is not a credentialed course. |

This course (Healthcare Provider or Heartsaver, Family and Friends) are two types of Instructor Courses designed to teach any candidate with prerequisite credentials to teach CPR to either Healthcare Providers and Laypersons – or only laypersons. |
Any individual who wishes to become either a Basic Life Support or Heartsaver Instructor to teach provider students the skills to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation. |
